These photos make me happy. The only time I bring my big boy camera to campus (graduation), and these serene representations of the mathematics department greet me. If these do not inspire nostalgia (envy) in me (you), I do not know what does.

Stairs up have view of all the students who will end up late for the lecture you are just about to make it to in time.
Yes, this massive thing is new. State of the art crazy. Grass growing on the roof with several big solar panels inclined in the centre of it. Most rooms have ambient lighting that changes over time. Makes for interesting distractions when you are doing 5'o clock lectures in january.
Excellent logo design for the MORSE soc. (the society for the interesting Mathematics, Operational Research, Statistics and Economics degree).
While the design of this area was a bit short-sightedly implemented (3 lecture halls upstairs all of which empty at the same time into a tiny corridor every hour), it sure looks good.
This passage from maths to comp.sci was built while I studied there. Presumably to create some sort of tenuous link between the subjects (in addition to the obvious academic connections) that ends up being there for purely visual reasons.
Why purely visual?
1. I never see anyone using it, and
2. it has fucking a neon light embedded around the middle of it.
