There really should be a proper run for this; I mean a relatively short 2D platform with ninja rope should be synonymous with speed.

There was apparently an effort to do this back in July, but after patching an exploit that allowed endless flying was nerfed via a patch I think it just stopped. The flying wasn't even that fast. Ninja rope is faster, but more difficult. A good run should still be possible and fun to do. I made this yesterday on Tower of Sarek. Took me a while, but at 1:00 it's 12 seconds better than the previous best.

Photos from the Burial ceremony of my granddad in 2008. This is the first gallery from my backlog of photos, but truth is, I probably didn't want to do that one right then. We do look remarkably happy in these shots, but while this could be taken as an indication of relief, it is actually just a testament to a really good remembrance ceremony.

Fireworks, and a crate full of crackling balls. Oh, and -20 degrees. We had to break the explosiveness down into parts as our hands were almost separating themselves from the joints. Thankfully, there was 4 player Wii Super Mario time going in the breaks, and as I sort of ended up inviting myself, I deservedly got to play as the orange toad.

Incidentally, this rare Blue moon that happened to end up on new years of a new decade also came with a partial lunar eclipse. This was not really noticeable in my shots, but this should clear that up.

Fourth and final part of my Yule photographs from 2009. Different parts of outside Arendal. Mostly down town by the harbour. The city looks great in this condition, and a bonus is that it is permanently less than -10 degrees centigrade so you are alone.

Third part of my winter shots from 2009. The title is a direct (i.e. nonsensical) word for word translation of that elusive period between the 24th and 31st of december designed by god for LAN parties. NO SHOTS FROM LAN PARTIES. I could invoke the fight club rules for this, but in reality it was because I rather wanted to play.

Second part of my photos from winter 2009. Mostly from around our house when snow was abundant and posing in it was in. First successful lightning shot as well!

First photos with my new camera. Yule 2009. Prepare for the first in a series of shots documenting our meals made from our finest animals. This did not seem weird to me before England. Now, I am known as that guy who eats Rudolph during xmas. Technically, known as is a colossal exaggeration. But that has more to do with my general introversion than with people's reaction to reindeer stew. Those reactions are comprised uniformly of two ingredients. Shock and horror.

Anyway. First set of shots. No snow shots yet.

Vacation time is at an end, and the big freeze here in Britain is over - i.e. 3 cm of snow that forced people to take a day off due to ridiculous driving conditions. I say ridiculous, of course, with at least a slight hint of derision - the degree of which depends solely on to whom I speak. Yes, snow days are welcome, but for what normally represents a day to appreciate nature's beauty, having it replaced by a pathetic display of a culture - only a few more degrees south - completely unprepared for the slightest weather change. Variety. That is the keyword. If you don't get beauty, you at least get humour.

Photos from Yule 2009 have been sorted through at any rate. They should be up shortly. Nothing like the combination of a new camera and the rare perfect white yule. I loved it – see photos above – but it seemed few people shared my apprecition. It might have something to do with me sleeping past that vital part of the day where shoveling is required. I am, however, counting on the effects of a quickly pasted link to my snow shots to ameliorate my biased appreciation.

As for my camera. Yes, I finally have got a DSLR, and it will asymptotically consume at least 12/7ths of the space of my old one – counting only megapixels and not raw file usage. But while I am working on my 4th year project I will try to simply catch up on my backlog of photos first.

Had yule held up to our old gaming standards, there would be no photos up yet though. Fortunately, my Norway computer resembles the radio equivalent of something running entirely on tubes and hamster electricity. This was partially to blame for our short LAN party’s inability to produce the extreme amount of gaming we used to crave, but rather the necessary page of javascript and php to get the galleries up and running. After the stress test they recieved a few weeks ago, they seem to have no problems.
